Rika Fujioka

Rika Fujioka is Professor of Macro-marketing at Kansai University. Her recent research concerns the evolving business model of retailers and the changing competitiveness of apparel companies under globalisation. Her publications include, "Global and Local: Retail Transformation and the Department Store in Britain and Japan, 1900–1940" (Business History Review, 92(2) 2018 with Jon Stobart), Global Luxury: Organizational Change and Emerging Market since the 1970s (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018, with Pierre-Yves Donzé), and Comparative Responses to Globalization: Experiences of British and Japanese Enterprises, (Palgrave Macmillan, 2013, edited with Maki Umemura).

Pierre-Yves Donzé

Pierre-Yves Donzé was born in Switzerland. He is a professor of business history at Osaka University and a visiting professor at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. His research focuses on the global business history of the watch industry, luxury companies, and fashion. His last publications include A Business History of the Swatch Group: The Rebirth of Swiss Watchmaking and the Globalization of the Luxury Industry (Palgrave Macmillan, 2014) and Global luxury: organizational change and emerging markets since the 1970s (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018, edited with Rika Fujioka). Currently, he is preparing the edition of the Oxford Handbook of Luxury Business (with Véronique Pouillard and Joanne Robert) and the book Fashion Business since 1850: A Global History (co-authored with Ben Wubs).

Ben Wubs

Ben Wubs is Professor of International Business History at ESHCC, Erasmus University Rotterdam, and Specially Appointed Project Professor at C-PIER, Kyoto University. He is engaged in various research projects related to multinationals, business systems, transnational economic regions, Dutch-German economic relations and the transnational fashion industry. His publications include: International Business and National War Interests: Unilever between Reich and Empire, 1939-45 (Routledge, 2008) and The Fashion Forecasters: The Hidden History of Color and Trend Prediction (Bloomsbury Publishing, 2018, edited with Regina Lee Blaszczyk). From 2013 to 16, he was a Principal Investigator on a HERA II research project into the transnational connections of the fashion industry since 1945. He is Programme Director of an Erasmus Mundus project GLOCAL (Global Markets and Local Creativities), an International Master’s set up by the Universities of Glasgow, Göttingen, Barcelona and Erasmus University Rotterdam. Furthermore, he is Project Leader of an European Fashion master ReFrame Fashion with Paris Dauphine University and Univerity of Technology in Gdansk.
